Optimizing Your eBay Listings For Better Results

If you aren't seeing a good return on your eBay investment, then it's time to take a look at your listings, listing titles and the image you are relaying to potential buyers.

I'm sure you've seen the listings that have things like L@@K in the title and things like - it's a waste of space. You want to use every character they give you in your title as valuable real estate chock full of searchable terms only. For instance, you have a vintage pair of Levi 501 blues for sale, which believe it or not sell well because the originals were discontinued a long time ago. In your title make sure you put the size, the fact that they are originals, the condition and such.

You could say: "Vintage Pair of Levi 501 Blues Good Condition"

Or you could say: "34x34 Original Levi 501 Vintage Good Condition"

Those are terms people search for. Search through your own titles and find where you have characters not being used, check your stats for the terms your bidders are searching and redo your titles.

Within the body of your listing, take photos like there is no description and describe your item like there are no photos. Be very specific about the color since monitors display colors differently (I always included a disclaimer that color may appear different as monitors and monitor settings vary from computer to computer). Make sure to note any defects to protect yourself from chargebacks. Don't jumble all of the information together, organize it well for your potential buyers. Lay out your terms such as how long they have to pay, when it will ship, and yes, note whether or not it is from an allergen-free home or not. If you smoke inside your home or have pets, do let your buyers know because they will not be afraid to chargeback "not as described" over pet dander or smoke odors.

Do not use keywords in your title or description that do not directly pertain to your item - this will get your listing pulled by the eBay police.

Do you need a template? No, but they do make your listings look professional and organized. Also - make sure you add a link to your other listings and turn on your listings frame if you have the option that way you can show your bidders more. Bidders LOVE combined shipping!
